Is it a radiator hose or something else that smells as if it is burning on 1996 Ford Taurus

on my right passenger tire side after i drive for about 10 to 20 mins . i smell something burning i don't know if its rubber or plastic or what but it stinks and i hear a ticking sound when i turn car off. when i look for smell it is the front right tire side. i open the hood and i see bubbling liquid by radiater thing that you pour coolant into there is a little hose at top where i see it but, alot of the stuff in front of it hoses and whatever are moist as well. the themo. inside the car don't read as if its over heating but it starts running bad like it wants to stall out and the idle seems off on it . i know exhaust is bad because its you can tell i have no clue what am doing . and i askedd family to help they are to busy and said to just drive it it is a brake hose? is that a possibilty? sorry for spelling..i dont know if it matters butt heat and ac dont seem to work and haven't for awhile

this vehicle has a coolant tank mounted on right fender by radiator. this is where coolant is added. they are bad about cracking near bottom of tank. sounds like that is where leak is.
