I have been told by the dealership that this service was due at 30,00, miles (I am at 41,000 now). When I look in the owner's manual and the maintenance manual for my vehicle, it says nothing about a fuel system service. I've noticed a drop in gas mileage, yet I put that on the newer tires I just had put on. Is this service necessary?

H... no! Just use some fuel additive with Chevron Techron, now, and about every 8,000 miles or so. Good stuff and is avail. at most any parts store. Dealer is just trying to sell this service but you do not need it! I am sure there will be different opnions on this matter, that is mine.
