Report: Internal Component Failure May Cause Rough Shifting
Mercedes-Benz E350 4MATIC Problem
Model Years Affected: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
Average Mileage: 53,375 mi (20,000 mi - 85,000 mi)
Vehicles equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission may develop a rough shifting condition, most commonly going up from first to second gear and going down from third to second or second to first gear. Our technicians tell us this is due to an internal component failure. Mercedes has released updated parts; the transmission will need to be removed and disassembled to complete the necessary repairs.

I have a harsh 3-2 shift in comfort mode and a harsh 1-2 in sport mode. The dealer say I need new cirleps and disc springs to return to normal. $600 for parts, $3000 for labor! Taking it to an indy shop today.

I have the same shifting problems as described and like other people they told me there is nothing wrong. My warranty will be up in a month so I will get stuck if it takes a complete dump.

Problems:
1. Cruising at 60 mph, if you punch accelerator to pass, the engine winds with rpm's going up but no downshift-almost feels like it is in neutral for about 1-2 seconds. Must remove foot from pedal to coast and then reapply to re-engage transmission in lower gear.
2. Experiencing hesitation when coming to a rolling stop---start.
Dealer said that they updated software to fix problem. Will monitor.Flag ThisLike0
