Never had this before and agency is stumped... After driving for a few minutes the "Brake" and "ABS" lights flash on as power to the speedometer, gas gauge, and temperature gauge fails. The gear indicator light stays on as well as the Odometer light although it flickers. Power to the radio is lost at the same time and when the power comes back on there is a loud pop from the speakers. The lights around the radio are not affected. Some times this goes on for a few minutes and other times it lasts for an hour or so. Help! I don't want to be stuck by the side of the road.... Thank you.

Give this a try, Go under the hood in the power dist. center and find the fuse labeled "IOD" (usually near the top of the fusebox) and pull it for 60 seconds then reinsert , this cuts power to the BCM which controls all this stuff . The computers get confused sometimes and need to be reset , that being said you should also check the battery and the connections for any corrosion , this will be caused by either a weak battery or dirty battery connections.
