Just replaced the oil sensor switch on this 2003 BMW 530I, ran vehicle up to operating temperature and driven as well. But when coming to a stop or to when the rpm gauge shows 1000 or less the warning light come on for low oil pressure shut off engine. But go to 1000 rpm and the light and message shuts off, only does it at idle rpm's 1000 or less, oil level is fine and no problems there. What could be problem?

    Hello to you
I am having exatelly the same problem.
I am from Sweden, the car have 100000 mils, i did a oil service + sparkplags etc etc.
When the problem came up bmw recomand me to replace the batery, I did that and they restart the on board computer....................????? Sorprice....the problems is still there .
I replaced the oilpressure sensor.....................and the problem is still there.
After a violent discutions with the BMW tecnitions, I am really P.O. they told me to replace again the oil pressure sensor ??? Well I will do thet again.

The Bmw people dont have a idea what is the problem, i suspect the oil 0-40 is to thin and when warm is not
