Someone had used a pocket knife to try and remove a dome light. Whe they did, it shorted something out and the alarm went off. Now the electric locks won't work, nor any of the interior dash, map, glovebox or dome lights. What could be wrong???

It sounds like a fuse may have blown in your 1999 Mercury Villager. Try checking all the fuses, pay close attention to any fuses labeled courtesy lights or door locks. Check your owners manual for fuse box locations and fuse information. If you don't have an owners manual Pepairpal may be able to help. Please use the following link to try and find the owners manual for your vehicle - http://repairpal.com/automobile-owners-manuals-online.

I posted the above question...Anyways, I replaced the fuse for the interior lighting (which was missing)and now the dome lights won't go off, unless I remove the fuse. The electric locks won't work...and the front blower fan ONLY blows on HIGH speed. Any suggestions?
