The 2004 Kia Sorento has only one engine option the V6 3.5 liter. Kia call for timing belt change (except CA), every 60,000 miles. In CA models, replace every 105,000 miles but it has all the same components. Your engine is an interference fit engine.

I have an answer. It is simple, change the belt. I work at a Kia dealer and if the belt breaks, you will have major engine damage. 60 K is the right time, that California bullshit is that and will leave you on the side of the road.
