Question: inter locks/ remote

 Rookie

My remote wont work any more even after replacing the battery in it. Also I am not able to lock/unlock the doors from pressing on the automatic buttons on the driver or passenger doors. I believe the remote wont work due to something in the doors. I have checked the fuses and they are fine. Any ideas???

    These remotes are real delicate and usually the metal battery holder inside the remote breaks loose from the mounting and looses its connection, Bring it to the chevy parts counter and ask the parts counterperson to take a look at it and explain what happened

    Wrong answer batman. This answer sounds like the cover up for the serious electrical problems this person is about to encounter. body control module will be one item, ignition switch, shifter, etc

    I have a 2006 Cobalt with the same problem, My remote stopped working and after having the battery replaced it still did not function. I presented it to a local parts store and the guy opend the remote and pointed out that the battery holder had broken loose and needed to be resoldered.
