Replacing the cam pulleys requires removing the timing belt and if that is being done it is labor intensive, you may as well replace seals and water pump and tensioners if you are going to keep the car long term. If there is a rattling noise there was a bulletin about powering up the variable timing solenoid to see if the noise changed, I forget I used to do a lot of work on them when they were new or ten or twelve years old, great engine if the oil was kept changed every 3000 miles the engine would go on for ever. It's not a job to try at home and if the car is twin turbo the engine compartment is even more cramped.
Labor guide says replace both gears only straight forward no other work no complications 7 hours labor.
