Question: Information on Transmission Replacement
Question
I am seeking information on cost estimates of what a transmission replacement should typically cost for an RX 300 (2002) through a Lexus dealer. I know there is no "exact" amount but I am wondering what a ball park figure should be. Please advise. Thank you.

MasterI show the dealer price for 2wd $2448.27 4wd $2551.72 for trans axle only, Labor to Remove and Replace 2 wd shows 9.4 hours 4wd shows 14.7 hours. I would get estimates from a transmission shop for rebuilding yours probably save you a couple of thousand.

RookieWe have a 2002 RX300 AWD and had to replace the transmission @ 112,000 miles. The local Lexus dealer replaced it with a rebuilt for $1200 (total) and a one year warranty. No additional problems and currently @ 122,500 miles. This is our second Lexus from this excellent dealer.
