2004 Volvo XC90 Question: Info light

hurtman, 2.9L 6 Cylinder Turbo, Sylacauga, AL, December 11, 2009, 09:46

Just purchased a 2004 volvo xc90. After using my valet key a message appeared Security System Alert. What does this mean? First thing in the morning when I start the car I do not get this message.
Also, there is a sound that comes from the vents when I turn the fan on. It's hard to describe the sound. Kinda sounds like something is struggling to move.

This may be indicating that there is a fault in the security system. The system will need to have a diagnostic computer hooked up to read the stored data. If there are any codes stored, they will need to be diagnosed. I suggest taking this to the dealer or a shop that specializes on Volvos

absolutely get an extended warranty, your transmission is going to fail...check on-line for transmission issues with this model...i replaced mine with a lifetime warranty, but you will not get it through Volvo...

I have the same vehicle and it makes the vent noise....do you know what the noise is? Has it to do with the transmission? And where did you get your lifetime warranty from?
