The fuel pressure sensor may not have been sufficiently tightened during vehicle production. As a result, the fuel pressure sensor may loosen over time resulting in a fuel leak. Any fuel leak increases the risk of a fire. Nissan / Infiniti dealers will replace the fuel pressure sensor as necessary to correct this concern.
Infiniti QX56 Recalls
In the affected vehicles the driver's front airbag may have been manufactured with and incorrect part. This part may block the flow of propellant when the airbag is deployed. This could cause the airbag to rupture, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will replace the driver's front airbag to correct this concern.
On certain vehicles, the fuel pressure sensor may not have been tightened to the correct specification. As a result, the fuel pressure sensor may loosen due to heat and vibration, causing a fuel leak. Fuel leaks always increase the risk of a fire. Dealers will replace the fuel pressure sensor to correct this concern.
A relay in the engine control power distribution module may arc and cause a failure which can result in engine stalling. Dealers will replace the relay inside the module free of charge to resolve the problem.
The A-pillar trim finishers may impede proper side curtain air bag deployment. This could cause occupant injury during a collision. Dealers will replace the A-pillar finishers. This recall began on August 16, 2010.
Nissan is recalling certain 2004 - 2010 Titan, Armada, & QX56 vehicles. Also included are 2005 - 2010 Frontier, Xterra, and Pathfinder vehicles for faulty front and/or rear suspension lower control arms. The problem is the control arm's attaching point to the vehicle's chassis. During the manufacturing process, some control arms may contain welds that do not meet Nissan's strength specs, and if they break, it may result in loss of vehicle control, and a possible crash.
Welds on the mounting collars of the front lower control arm may not meet specifications. A failed control arm increases the risk of a crash. Dealers will repair the vehicles as necessary. This recall is scheduled to begin by May 20, 2010.
The instrument panel fuel gauge may show fuel in the fuel tank when there is none, typically about 1/4 when the tank is empty. This could cause the vehicle to run out of gas and stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel sender unit inside the fuel tank to correct this concern. This recall is expected to begin on March 22, 2010.
The pin that secures the brake pedal to the mounting bracket may become dislodged. This would cause the pedal to become loose, and could compromise braking action. Dealers will inspect the pivot pin area and replace the brake pedal assembly if necessary. This recall began on March 22, 2010.
The AC condenser fan motor in the engine compartment may not be sealed properly against water intrusion and it may not have proper drainage. Water intrusion may lead to corrosion and possibly overheating of the motor, and a fire. Dealers will install a "thermal protector kit" and test and replace the AC condenser fan motor if needed. The recall began August 2, 2008.
