Infiniti QX56 Recall 10V072000
Brake Pedal May Partially Disengage from the Brake Pedal Bracket
The brake pedal is mounted under the driver's dash area onto a bracket. At this point of mounting, there is a pin that could slide out. This could cause the pedal to detach from the bracket. If this happens, the brake pedal would feel unusual and loose, and braking action may be compromised.
We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall; this would change to high if any problems are noted with the brake pedal. Please contact your Nissan or Infiniti dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The pin that secures the brake pedal to the mounting bracket may become dislodged. This would cause the pedal to become loose, and could compromise braking action. Dealers will inspect the pivot pin area and replace the brake pedal assembly if necessary. This recall began on March 22, 2010.
