Fuel Gauge May Not Read Correctly
Electrical & Lights, March 5, 2012

RepairPal Expert Overview

The fuel gauge may indicate a fuel level greater than what is actually in the fuel tank. As a result, the engine could stall without warning.

Nissan will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning in mid-April 2012. There may be no symptoms related to this recall or the fuel gauge could act erratically. If you have problems with the fuel gauge, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

Due to a circuit board failure, the fuel gauge may indicate a fuel level higher than what actually exists. As a result, the vehicle may run out of gas without warning, causing the vehicle to stall, which can cause a crash. Dealers will modify the affected circuit board to correct this concern.
