Infiniti G35 Recall 02V245000
Fuel Line May Come Loose from Fuel Pump
The fuel line at the fuel pump may come loose, which could create a large fuel leak and the engine will stop running from lack of fuel.
Please contact your Infiniti dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
During manufacturing, the fuel hose connection at the fuel pump outlet may not have been secured properly. The connection could come loose when starting the engine or while driving. This could create a large fuel leak and the engine will stall from lack of fuel. If the engine stalls without warning, this could cause a crash, and a fuel leak could result in a fire in the presence of an ignition source. Dealers will inspect the fuel hose connection, and properly attach it if necessary. The recall began October 7, 2002.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FUEL HOSE CONNECTION FOR THE OUTLET OF THE FUEL PUMP WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY ATTACHED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED AND COULD COME LOOSE WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE.
IF THE CONNECTION COMES LOOSE WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE WILL STOP RUNNING DUE TO LACK OF FUEL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. ALSO, IF THE CONNECTION COMES LOOSE WHILE DRIVING OR ATTEMPTING TO START OR RESTART THE ENGINE, SOME FUEL WILL DISCHARGE FROM THE FUEL PUMP. IF THIS SHOULD OCCUR IN THE PRESENCE OF AN EXTERNAL IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD RESULT.
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, PROPERLY ATTACH THE FUEL HOSE TO THE FUEL PUMP. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN OCTOBER 7, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT INFINITI AT 1-800-662-6200.
