Question: in the coolant pump, there is a run-off hose that continually drips coolant.why?

in the coolant pump, there is a run-off hose that continually drips coolant.why?
is there a problem with my thermostat? i recently changed the thermostat-housing because of a crack. do i need a gasket in there too for a vacuum seal or something? HELP

    most likely the hose needs to be replaced. all hoses and fittings are under pressure when car is warm

    it's an open-end hose...the water-pump drain hose...someone has suggested that there is air in my cooling line? does that make sense?

    no sounds like the internal seal is bad and the pumpneeds replacing

    you were right..pump needs replacing...that hose is there so the coolant doesn't spray all over the alternator
