SPEND LIKE 90.00 AND HAVE IT CK'D OUT B4 YOU BUY IT. IT WILL BE WELL WORTH THE MONEY. WHAT IS THE ASKING PRICE. IF THEY ARE HIDING NOTHING THEY WILL LET U GET IT CK'D OUT. THEN TAKE THE 90 OFF THE ASKING PRICE AND MAKE AN OFFER

If it is in Wisconsin, then being 14 years old it probably has more rust than the rocker panel.
Fourteen years old? That's a little old to be buying as a used car. Try for something around 5 years to 10 years old.
That way you will probably be driving it for several years.
And WHY does the air conditioner not work? The compressor needed for the AC also is responsible for the defrosting/defogging done when the heater is working.

I drive a 1998 Buick LeSabre currently, and I cut the AC compressor out because I could hear a tinkling metallic sound coming from it, I was told it was bearings and if it seized, my serpentine belt would also so I put a bypass pulley in it's place. My heat and defrost work just fine.
