2000 Acura Integra Question: ignition replacement

Rookie

I had to replace the ignition switch after someone attempted to steal it. I am being told the computer needs to be reset or "Flash the Switch" so the cpu will allow it to start.
Can you help me with any information on this "Flash" reset?

I just looked a wiring diagram it has a connector that says "security system optional" put the switch in and see if it works. I don't remember anything needing to be reprogrammed on the ones I have replaced on the Acura Integra.
