ignition issues on 1997 Chevrolet S10

I have an s-10 that runs for about 5-10 seconds and then shuts off. I have checked the fuel pressure and it is at about 50 pounds so I know its not fuel. could it be the ignition module or something electrical?

it is the fuel pump. the pressure needs to be 58-62 lbs. i am surprized it runs with 50 lbs. Roy

are there different fuel pressure settings for the same 4.3litre engine in a different vehicle say an astro van with the same engine?

Alright driving home last night went to put it in 3 rd gear so gave it a lil gas an it went an started sounding like a lawn mower and the rpms go up to 2 or 3000 on their own. Any ideas
