Question: If you don't replace your cv joints can it damage your transmission

My cv joints were making noise only when I was backing up, a friend told me if I don't replace them soon it could damage my tranmission

    the cv joints if bad and not replace could cause the following(1)the joints would fall apart while your are driving and you would have to get a tow truck (2)when and if it falls apart while you are driving it would cause major damage to the front suspension and even destroys your transmission (3)the next thing that could result is the axle seals at the transmission would be damage causing the transmission to leak thereby the transmission would over heat and could be damage.........................mac33
