Question: If the check engine light goes off, does that mean the problem if fixed?

My check engine light came on about 1 month ago. I took it to the Toyota Dealer and the diagnostic test came back reading that the catalytic converter needs to be replaced.
I read an article saying to change the gas cap or change fuel type(which I did) and the light went off!!
Does that mean the problem is fixed?????????????

    no it does not. it may be that it passed this round of monitor runs. it will come back on.

    you also need to delete the code, even if the light off, the code may be instored in the engine.
