2004 Infiniti FX35 Question: if drive belt sqills very loud does it mean a pully is locking up?

Inspect the drive belt while a partner starts the vehicle. Be careful not to put your hand on anything moving. Then try switching the A/C or defrost on and off noting if this makes a difference. This would indicate an A/C clutch bearing or compressor concern. However, the most probable is a serpantine belt that might be wet, loose or poor condition.
