Possible coolant temp. sensor, coked throttle body or thermostat problem.
Thanks for your response.I will try the coolant temp sensor and see if thats the problem.Do you know just where this sensor is located on a 98 ranger xlt 2.5 liter 4 cyl automatic?
my friend we need to get a reading of the coolant temp sensor wheen the car is cold. when a engine is cold is must use more fuel to get warmed up and then when the engine is warm it needs less fuel fuel so what im thinging here is that when the engine is cold the temp sensor is tell the pcm the engine is warm so the pcm is sending less fuel then it needs. the coolant temp. reading on a cold engine should be outside temp or colder.
Thanks very much for your response.Do you happen to know where the temp sensor is located on a 98 ranger xlt 2.5 liter 4 cyl automatic?
do fuel pressure test. one when cold. one when hot. possible issue fuel delivery(fuel pump).
