2001 Kia Sportage Q&A

2001 Kia Sportage Question: I WAS TOLD MY FRONT BEARING OR BEARINGS (NEVER SPECIFIED) NEEDED REPLACEMENT

WHEN I TALKED TO THE SERVICE WOMAN SHE SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO DO A SUSPENSION CHECK TO SEE EXACTLY WHICH BEARING(S)NEEDED REPLACEMENT. EVIDENTLY THERE ARE INNER AND OUTER BEARINGS. IF THEY DID NOT DO A SUSPENSION CHECK AT THE TIME, HOW WOULD THEY KNOW I HAD BAD BEARINGS. I DO NOT NOTICE ANY COMPROMISE IN MY CAR'S DRIVEABILITY OR STEERING. IT ONLY HAS 62,000 MILES ON IT. -
Answer 1
Maybe inner/outer tie-rods? Any noise while driving above 45MPH? -
Answer 2
You are right. They should have been able to tell you especially if they were already looking at the car. We would be happy to take a quick look at it for you. -
