Question: i took my car for a battery change,n now my car will start but wont hold an idle

so my car shut off every time i turn it on.

    Jumpstart vehicle from another car. If it holds and continues to run, remove jumper cables and let vehicle idle for a few minutes. If the alternator is bad, it will "stall out" during this period.
