Question: I press on gas pedal but no reaction from car.

 Rookie

Have not had any problems but my check engine light has been on...dealership said I may need to replace gas cap and not to bring in.
This morning I get in and press the gas pedal but nothing happens...I just coast along.

    IF YOU HAVE AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE (NO THROTTLE CABLE) CK YOUR FUSES 1ST IF ALL OK YOU MUST SCAN CODES, GO TO AUTO ZONE AND THEY WILL FOR FREE.

    Thanks for the help! I replaced the gas cap since I noticed the other day it was loose and the car accelerated fine...not sure if that was the actual fix or what but check engine light is still on. Will be taking it to Auto Zone very soon to have it scanned for sure.
