Question: I own a vintage 1988 560SL but could not find a car this old on your site.
Question
I took my car in for A/C repair and ask the shop to not change out the factory parts. Not only did they change it from R12 to 134 without my permission, they said they did work on the timing chain. After reading all that goes into the timing chain from your site, that had nothing to do with the air condition. I am sure now they took my parts off my car and put old parts. I no longer have factory head gaskets but want to know if you can do a detail inventory of my car down to the pistons, engine block. They did so much work around the engine and I was not having problems with the car starting or driving. I just needed the A/C repaired. I would like to bring in the detail invoice and discuss my problem. I have gotten hit hard on car repairs twice. I need some help

MasterAny repair order must have a signed agreed estimate cost authorizing work to be done or the repair order is not legal and work need not be paid for that was not authorized. Consumer law is slightly different from state to state. Call the Texas State Burea of Automotive Repair and they will be able to advice you best what the law is in your state.

EnthusiastWe would be glad to perform an inspection and evaluate the condition of the vehicle.We have several technicians that have extensive experiance with these older cars.

RookieI will call to set up an an appointment to come in an have the evaluation done. I would like to know in advance so I can take the entire day off or however many days it may take. I have a certified title and owner search from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicle which says my vechile was certified as a vintage car. It was factory built with no gray market or cheap parts.
