I'm relocating to California and need to know if my truck will pass emissions test. If not what will it need to be compliant?

someone in the california area will be able to tell you that when you get there. have it tested before you go in for your inspection to see. they are the most strict state in the country.

I've already had it tested in Rhode Island and it passed. I don't want to bring it out here if won't meet California standards because I might have a difficult time trying to sell it out here. If you don't have an answer to my question don't bother responding.

we dont know what kind of shape it is in from here so thats why I am saying you will need a test compariable to california testing. other states are more forgiving than california.

It depends where in California you are moving. Some counties here do standard smog testing on entry to the state and change of ownership then every two years after that. Some counties and higher population ares where there is a "Smog problem" they do enhanced testing which is even more intense than the "normal" California emission testing. It involves testing the vehicle on a rolling road and testing NOx emissions. It's always a gamble, is your truck rust free?
