Might want to check requirements for emissions testing in your area. The light may be required to work as designed. It should go on briefly when starting and then go off , if there are no 'emissions faults' , if it does not go on at all , that may be a cause for failure also. May be less trouble just to get it scanned and fix the problem?

the lights stays on steady now, looking for auto shop in my area. I live in Riverdale, IL. 60827 in cook county. I already got it scanned at Autozone...so I know what the problem is.
