Question: i need to change my oil pump

 Rookie

i have a 2001 chevy blazer 4x4 4.3 eng.i need to change the oil pump is it in the oil pan? or i have to take out the water pump.

  The oil pump is in the oil pan and you will need to remove the pan to replace the pump. Check out the repair information available from Auto Zone to find information on how to remove the oil pan - www.autozone.com.

  The book shows a time of 6.8 to 10 hours depending on AC, power steering, cruise control, skid plate etc to change the oil pump.
