Question: I NEED AN HONEST, RELIABLE REPAIR SHOP

THE CAR LEAKED COOLANT PUTTING STEAM INTO THE VEHICLE AND SEEMED TO RUN HOT. I STOPPED AND ALLOWED THE CAR TO COOL BEFORE MOVING IT. I WAS TOLD BY A DEALER THAT THE HEATER COIL AND THE HEAD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE CAR HAD RAN HOT CAN THIS BE TRUE? nO CODE YET
WILL PICK UP CAR ON WEDNESDAY

    Yes this is entirely possibly. If the head gasket is bad, then they should have measure the leakage somehow, normally with a chemical in the coolant or a gas analyzer to measure the hydrocarbons in the cooling system. If they cannot tell you how they determined the head gasket is leaking, then I would be suspicious.
