The RepairPal estimator indicates the $150 estimate is a bit high, (http://repairpal.com/estimator/results) perhaps there are some diagnostic charges includes in your estimate.

Could I get the part and do it myself. ISN'T IT THAT BLACK PLASTIC COVERING THAT DROPS DOWN FROM UP UNDER THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THAT DRONPS DOWN AND THEN YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED?

Yes, it should be behind the lower dash cover on the passenger side. I would suggest removing the cover to see if you think you can replace the part.

I want you to know I thank you sooo much for the info you have given me. I went out to the car and saw a black plastic covering with numerous drive nuts holding it up. Its going to be very simple thing to drop that cover and then Iam sure I will see the part in question I need to change. Tyhe guy at the auto parts plkace said he could get me one for 19.99. Evbidently the part has some spring looking or coil looking deviceses ion the part and is just held on with two or three screws or nuts. He said it would probably just fall out in my hand.

The service staion I went to this morning wabnted $150.00 bucks to do what will probably not take him even an hour to do. Iam sooo glad I found this site and got the information I needed so I won't get taken advantage of. Because thats what was about to happen. Now I am an amputee but wear a prosthesis but I can still lay in the floor of the car and remove those nuts and replace that part. That person was so nice and told me he could save me some money. Yeha right. He was getting ready to take me for a ride. Thats why I always do some research before I go ahead with something. You have literally made my day today. And when I fix the thing myself, I will pay that man a visit and just ask him why he was going to cheat a man with one leg and on portable oxygen. Its got to where you cannot trust anyone today. Praise God you were up front with me. You will go fgar and be blessed for telling folks the truth. I don't know what to say but thank youi for your help with this. You prevented an amputee from gettinmg cheated today. That shouold make you feel great.
