I have no power to data link connector on 2001 Hyundai Accent

The check engine light is on but i have no power to the data link connector hence unable to check for codes,also engine idle speed seems to high. i also noticed engine runs good but has lifter/injector noise?

Hello you should check the #5 fuse in the dash fuse panel it may be blown or missing this will cause the connector not to communicate with any scan tool.HAVE A BLESS DAY from DR.RECO.

Thanks for the reply,sorry but forgot to mention i cked the fuses inside and under the hood with test light then again by pulling each fuse 1 at a time for a visual inspection. The car had a bad engine so i replaced it however data link did not have power prior to the swap. I installed a complete engine right down to the sensors. The replacement engine was in a wrecked car that still ran and was driveable so i swapped it complete to ensure that i had no issues. All wires are in the data link not pulled loose and connectors appear undamaged,my scanner just wont power up on this accent only all others its been fine. Im thinking wiring harness short under dash. but thanks again for the reply.
