I have a 92 Volvo 960. I have a flashing arrow sign and the speedometer stopped. on 1992 Volvo 960

I've seen videos of "quick" fixes by moving through the gears. I've tried this once without luck. Is there anything else I can look for?

This means the transmission computer has registered a fault with the transmission. A fault can be recorded for many different reasons, so it's best not to guess what the cause, or fix might be. You can read the codes without any tools, just search for the instruction, pull the codes from the engine and transmission computers, post them and we can offer better advice.

You can find that info here: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/read-codes-volvo-850 It say's 850, but it's the same for your 960. Post the codes after you get them.
