2007 Honda CR-V Question: I have a 2007 crv and when backing up I hear a sort of rubbing noise.

I only hear it when backing. Checked brake pads and they seem fine. It happens when car is cold or warm.

    how old are the pads? is backing plate touching rotor at any spot

    Brake pad are 2 years old and backing plate not touching.

    Rear differential fluid(Honda Dual-pump) is most likely in need of a drain & refill. When the fluid gets bad it will cause low speed 'judder' in forward or reverse in turns at low speeds. Very commonly missed maint. item. That often is confused with rear brake problems.
