I have a 2007 crv and when backing up I hear a sort of rubbing noise. on 2007 Honda CR-V

I only hear it when backing. Checked brake pads and they seem fine. It happens when car is cold or warm.

Rear differential fluid(Honda Dual-pump) is most likely in need of a drain & refill. When the fluid gets bad it will cause low speed 'judder' in forward or reverse in turns at low speeds. Very commonly missed maint. item. That often is confused with rear brake problems.
