About a year ago, I have been having intermittent trouble unlocking/locking my car electrically: using the remote opened and using the switch inside the car. When it does not work, I need to manually turn the key to get into the car OR push the mechanical lock inside to get out of the car. I see many aricles here on what the problem might be but have not seen any firm answers. Does anyone have information that might help me fix this problem. Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

Are all the power door locks intermittent inoperative or just one? If all the locks are inoperative it would have to be a main power and or ground issue and or an issue with the power lock module. It could also be a software issue. We would love to take a look at it for you, preferably when we can duplicate the issue.

Duplicating the issue may happen the same day I bring it in, or may not. If I am to guess, I think that the lock will fail during the period of a few hours. I am holding off on seeing a professional because my funds are limited in my quest to fix this problem. Maybe I can call if I cannot figure it out within the next week.

I understand. I did some research and did not find any common door lock issues that match your symptoms. I'm confident we can help if we can duplicate it enough. When you are ready do not hesitate to call. We would be glad to help. By the way we do have credit options available.

Thanks and have a great weekend,

Any add on equipment? Does this happen when parked at a certain place or it doesn't matter? If in the same spot possible RFI. Body module can be scanned and actuators cycled by the scanner, however keep in mind intermittent problems are difficult to pinpoint. May have a trouble code though. ------- When funds permit. One more question, will any of the buttons work when it is acting up? Possible wire problem in the loom going into the door. Just some random thoughts.

Thank you for your response. No, it happens at different physical locations. I do have one of those little hand-held machines that will put out a code number. I had done that a long time ago. I guess I should do it again. Side note: My check engine light has been coming on at times too. This has been for about the same time period as the locks. Hmmmm. I an not sure if that might be related to the locks.
