Question: I have a 2005 Ford Taurus that also blows hot then cold. Put in a new thermostat

then had it charged (its holding freon) then took it to a Big Name shop where they claim that I need a new fuse box and harness for a total of $1500 installed. The rest of the systems that are in the fuse box, i.e. brake lights, etc. all are working so I am somewhat baffled. Is there a sensor or something else? Help me, I am just a poor college kid disabled. Thanks.

    Yes, find another shop that can bypass the problem in the fuse panel, if that in fact is the problem. What EXACTLY did they say is wrong with the fuse panel? Is the compressor turning on and off? If that is the case, you may need to have the system serviced, not just filled.
    I would get a second opinion. Sometimes the Big Name Shops are that way because they advertise a LOT!! If you have a really good shop, your work is all the advertisement that you need, at least it was for me and my shop.
