transmission stays engaged when i need to stop. The only way to keep the motor running is to put in neutral, then put in drive when i start to go again, and it only happens after being driven on the highway for any period of time. Also, there is no "Check Engine Light" displayed. Anybody else with this problem? Or know why it's doing this, and how to fix this issue?
Thanks, Eddie

when your trans goes into lock up or overdrive it needs to release when you touch the brake pedal so this doesn't happen. it could be anything from a brake light switch to a lockup solenoid to internal trans issues. go see a trans guy 1st and see what he says. try turning off car when you stop next time then restart and see if that resets the trans if so you might have only a sensor problem

Check your trans. fluid level. Changing the fluid and putting in fresh could help with this problem.
