Question: I have a 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette that turns over but won't start up.

I have had the camshaft sensor replaced, the fuel pump replaced and the fuel filter replaced. And yet it still will not start up. The mechanic says that the gas is coming up good but nothing is happen it still will not start up! Can you please help me!!!

If it has good fuel pressure and assuming timing and compression are good then it would be spark related.

My wife is having the same problem. once or twice a day the engine cranks, but it won't start. She lets it sit for 10 minutes and then it starts. Hot/cold doesn't seem to be releveant. Our mechanic claims he cannot solve the problem unless he is there with it when it happens. Right! He's come to her location twice; and each time, it started when he got there. He kept it for two days and it finally happened; but it started again before he could figure out the problem. He swears there's no diagnostic tool that can help. Hard to believe. Any suggestions??
