Question: I have a 2000 Taurus. The cruise light comes on, but the cruise will not engage.

ABS light is on in the dash. The car just got the transmission rebuilt, but it has not been driven in almost a year prior to the transmission work.

    cruize will not work if abs light is on.scan codes and post so we can adv

    Okay, thank you. do not have the time to scan it today but will have it done & will let you know. thanks again.
    i did some checking under the hood just now & found a cable that was disconnected on the accelerator linkage. I hooked it up & the cruise now works. the abs light is still on, but I noticed a growling noise in the right front. I'm guessing a wheel bearing is bad. Will take care of it this weekend & hopefully the abs light goes out.
