2004 Cadillac DeVille Question: I changed out the fuel pump on my 2004 cadilac deville now the service engine

Rookie

the car quit had to replace the whole fuel pump. since then the service engine light is on. i had it checked and it revealed that the camshaft position was defective and a evaporator emission leak. this was not happing before i changed the fuel pump. what could be wrong

try to check area where you install the fuel pump and around the evap system check for loose, crack hoses and plastic attachment maybe broken.

scan codes and post so we can adv but poss evap leak at fuel tank or you forgot to plug in tank pressure sensor

the reason why i had to replace the fuel pump was due to a faulty connector that the manufactor stated with the instalation instruction would become loose over time causing a burn out in the fuel pump. why this was not under recall you got me, but they make sure you know after you have spent $298.64 within the fuel packaging was a new connector that had to be spliced in, this was the only difference in the whole new fuel pump setup. The fuel pump is working fine, but the ecm is throwing of all kind of stuff like faulty camshaft position sensor, evaporater emission leak, check gas cap, not to mention oil pressure low, yet its at 98 precent totally within range. Noe of this makes sense because none of this was happening befor i replaced the fuel pump and the new connector Do i need to disconnect the battery and let the computer reset itself
