If your issue is with the vehicle feeling like it is jumping when making turns. Are your tires the same size all the way around? Is the vehicle in 2wd, not 4 wheel drive?

Sounds like an internal issue with your transfer case. The shift fork melts and the shift collar can no longer be engage by the fork causing the vehicle th stay in 4wd low even though it says it's in 4wd high.
