Question: I cannot compress cylinder to put over new pads

put on new pads on 2007 optima but I cannot compress cylinder to fit over new pads..used c-clamp

    Use old pads to put over cylinder to help with compression of cylinder and remove cap to top of master cylinder to make compression easier.

    thanks...what I eventually did was spray some break cleaner under the boot to help unstick some rust. I let it sit for a few minutes,closed the master cylinder and put my foot on the break. After about 3 minutes the pedel started to go down. I went back and put a small piece of wood and used my c-clamp to compress the cylinder evenly. It worked. Must have been some good rust or Hard "gunk crud"
