i broke the heater return off inside the block can i leave it inside the block on 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

or do i need to pull the heads off

Can you still see it? You mean the plastic 90° (elbow) fitting i assume, doesn't go to the cyl. head! You should be able to pull the broken piece out of the intake with an o-ring pick or the like. If left in the cooling system, it may restrict heater output. Be better off to get it out! NAPA has them both in 'metal', there are two on your engine. I suggest using these, or get the plastic from GM as some aftermarkets are junk!! (NOE 6601942) this is the NAPA part number, comes as a pair, upper & lower and worth the difference in price!

No i can not see it. Yes it is 90 degree elbow it fell Inside the motor
