I have a 1997 Taurus. It has approx. 166,000 miles on it. My husband has replaced the fuel filter, cat converter, O2 sensors (2 of them) and the plugs. The transmission was rebuilt in March. If I am driving, about 5 minutes into my drive the car will not accelerate. It coughs and sputters and just wont go. If I turn the car off and immediately back on, it drives fine again for another few minutes and then does it again. It failed emissions last week. C\Does anyone know what might be going on before we are forced to sell this car?

You need to have your fuel pump pressure checked. Just because its working does not mean its good
