1999 Jeep Cherokee Question: I am getting a bad clunk from drive train

randall1, 4.0L 6 Cylinder, Mchenry, IL, April 02, 2013, 12:49

The clunk is coming from rear but sometimes seems to come from the front and at times from t-case/trans area. It happens mostly when accelerating from dead stop but at times accurse while in motion. This has been accruing for about a year and has got a lot worse as of recently.(it is not the u-joints)
