Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T ProblemsNo Sound from Speakers
Hyundai Genesis Coupes equipped with navigation units may suddenly stop playing audio from all speakers. This includes sound from CD players, radio, navigation, satellite radio, and telephone calls. All other features may still function properly.
This fault requires no part replacement, and is a software glitch that can be rectified by a 'hard reset'.
To perform the hard reset, simply disconnect the vehicles negative battery terminal, wait 15 minutes, and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
The theft system alarm may sound for no apparent reason. The is commonly caused by a faulty hood closed switch. A new, slightly taller switch is available to correct this concern.
A whine type noise may be noted from the power steering pump. This can be caused by a clogged reservoir which can aerate the power steering fluid. Cleaning the reservoir screen will restore proper fluid flow, reducing the noise.
Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T QuestionsWhy will the car not start? (1 answer)
Do not think the battery is the problem. New oil change which I originally thought was the issue. Problem came out of nowhere; at first engine was taking a bit to start when turning on ignition--than the next day did not start at all.
Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T RecallsPassenger Air Bag Only Partially Deploys In An Accident
The wiring connector to the occupant classification system (OCS) may become dislodged when the passenger seat is moved, resulting in the air bag system to default to only a single stage deployment of the passenger frontal air bag. Additionally, the air bag will not turn off as designed when there is a child in the front seat. Dealers will secure the OCS connector to prevent it from disconnecting free of charge to resolve the concern.
The rear differential and rear suspension cross member may not have been aligned properly during vehicle assembly. This could result in the loosening of the fasteners which secure the rear differential to its mounting. Dealers will verify the proper assembly of the differential free of charge to resolve the concern.
The affected vehicles are being recalled because the brake light switch can fail prematurely, resulting in the loss of brake light operation. Other systems that may be affected include: cruise control, push-button start, gear shifter, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. Dealers will replace the brake light switch to correct this concern.
