Question: How to reset light after water resevoir was fixed? It still comes up water.

 Rookie

We fix a small pin hole in water resevoir tank. The person broke the stem of inside resevoir. Will that make the info. light stay on. All we did was fix hole and filled it back up with water. Please help!

    find out how the sensor works ?does the broken stem have a float with an electrical contact on it?(like some brake reservoir switches) ..also you say 'water' I say 'BMW coolant'...BIG difference water BAD BAD BAD for aluminum

    yes,the floater with stem on top that is broke off inside has a electrical contact. It is holding water great but the light want go out due to the contact not working. We have a tank on order, but my question is can you still drive it and it be OK with the info light coming on?

    yes it's okay to drive as long as you know the coolant level is okay you're just dealing with an electrical signal 'error' not an actual mechanical problem.the warning light should go out on it's own once the new tank is installed and filled to proper level.
