It's a simple maintenance question. I have a license plate light burned out but don't know how to remove the light cover on the trunk lid. There are no screws to remove & no obvious way to remove the cover to get at the light. How do I remove the license plate light cover on the trunk so I can replace the light? Thanks.

In order to replace the license bulb(s) on your 2002 Buick LeSabre you must remove the complete lighting assembly from the trunk lid. This is not as hard as it sounds. the attaching nuts are inside the trunk lid. Just move the fabric covering out of the way, remove the mounting nuts there are about 6-8 of them. Then carefully slide the light assembly out from the trunk lid and disconnect the electrical connector. You can then place the light on a work table and replace the bulbs as necessary.

you have to remove 8 screws on the back of the panel. The entire back where the lights are is one piece attached to the trunk lid, so you will be working over head. Remove the eights screws and pull the whole piece off. easy to do but takes a few. All back lights are accessable from there
This is not covered in my manual. I'm sure it's a simple operation, but I don't know where to start. How do I get to the license plate light so I can replace the bulb?
