1998 Mercedes-Benz ML320 Question: how to replace the fuel pump

 Rookie

the first time the car did not start, I waited about 3 hours and it started right away, the second time it would not start at all.

    How do you know it's the fuel pump? You need to test the pressure and flow at the fuel rail before taking on this difficult project.

    It was just a damn burnned up fuse, car is up and running again.

    We find fuses, relays, bad connections & NO FUEL all the time. That's why I asked. Glad you found the problem.

    Have you verified the crankshaft position sensor is within spec? When the sensor fails you will get a non start condition as well.
